Laws of Shabbos #176

If a muktzeh item was mistakenly left on an item, such as a table, that one wants to use on Shabbos, one may tilt the item on its side, and allow the Muktzeh item to fall down. If tilting the item cannot be done where it currently stands one may move the item to a different place and tilt it there. This is known as tiltul min hatzad, moving muktzah in an indirect fashion. We will discuss some qualifications and possible extensions of this principle in the days to come.
